Metropolitan Youth Symphony

Metropolitan Youth Symphony was organized in 1982 to provide a challenging program of excellence in orchestral music for young musicians. Under the direction of Wayne Roederer, Musical Director/Principal Conductor and Lew Felton, Associate Conductor. MYS provides school musicians through ninth grade with challenging rehearsal and performance experiences in a professional environment. The members of MYS are divided by ability into three string orchestras and one full symphony orchestra. In addition to the experience of orchestral performance, MYS members may participate in a solo recital series, scholarship competition and a summer string music camp.
