WELCOME

Welcome to the new web site of the Arizona Group Psychotherapy Society (AzGPS) !  We have given it a fresh new look that also showcases some of the outdoor beauty from around the wondrous state of Arizona.  Also, please note that the quotes on the top of each page change each time you click on a new page.  Our creative Webmaster would love to hear your comments, suggestions and questions.  If you have any difficulties as you navigate through the web site, or you can't find what you're looking for, please be sure to let him know.  Our web site is updated frequently to keep it current so I invite you to visit often.

AzGPS is an association of diverse mental health professionals from across Arizona who are committed to advocating the efficacy of using group psychotherapy to help individuals, couples and families heal and grow.  AzGPS is also an Affiliate Society of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA).  To learn more about our organization, please take some time to explore our site.  To discover the benefits of membership in our organization, I invite you to click on the Become a Member link in the menu on the left.

BIG SUCCESS!

The April 28th Forum: Issues and Strategies in Treating Gamblers and the Families in A Group Setting was a big success for those who attended.  Our presenter was Bobbe McGinley, the well respected director of ACT.  Bobbe's credentials are many and she is skilled in the field of gambling addictions as well as related addictions.  She informed us that therapists, willing to train in this area, are needed to work with the alarming number of teens who are addicted to gambling.  If you are interested in knowing how you can obtain this training contact Bobbe at (602) 569-4328.  Once again, "Thank You" Bobbe!

CONDOLENCES

Our condolences to Ellen Sohus and her husband Andrew on the loss of his father, Dr. Clyde Kurtz, an outstanding doctor and educator in the field of urology.  An inveterate horticulturist and humanitarian, Dr. Kurtz will be missed by his family and many friends.
